In Progress 1.0.146
In Progress 1.0.146
The next update (1.0.146) is coming shortly! ...in progress
With all the advances we've made internally, a few things went a little awry in the last updates, but they brought to light some excellent possibilities to improve fundamental features. And so we did!
The upcoming version will have highly improved:
• Slash&Spread and Slash&Pivot
will now work even under overhangs, allowing for far more elaborate patternpieces to be operated on. Their behavior is now even more solid.
• Mirror
(now melting even patternpieces, if the mirror is on an edge of it). In case of pure framework, it will leave only one center line, when mirrored along a line. It will expand groups, if a group got mirrored. It's a massive leap forward for mirror!
• Move Point
now has a proper picking radius. It handles Beziers beautifully and a secret function already will sneak in, using "Comma" and "Period" as hotkeys by default, which will contract and expand selected points by a computed center. This will later become a full-on feature!
• Extract
is again improved dramatically for things that were previously hard or even impossible. Speed is considerably improved for certain situations.
• Groups
now generates a common center as well as getting a much better integration all around. It will still have some more growing to do, but it already is a powerful asset which needs not hide.
• True Dart
now does a much better job in truing seems, if Bezier curves were directly connected to the dart.
• Trim/Extend speed increase for Bezier. In fact...all things Bezier are faster now and just as accurate, if not more.
But there's more! New features:
• Shapes will replace "Circle" and allow you to create N-gons (triangles, squares, pentagons, hexagons etc.....) and Rectangles as well as the trusty old circle.
• Rotate and Scale becomes and "Auto Center" function, automatically finding the center of your selection to set the pivot there. It's just an option, but it's powerful!
There's yet more coming, but all will be announced!

Did I miss out on version 1.0.145?
I am still on 1.0.144
Great Job guys

Oh, no, no, it's just that we advance internally with beta tests and if we suddenly come up with something too nice, we then advance to the next version number. And something really nice happened here again! You will see!
Thank you, Meka!

A little fun with the new Shapes
This is just having a bit of fun with it. But they are quite serious!
What this video doesn't show is that you can set radius or edge-length at any time after the N-gon had been started.
The same goes for rectangles, where width and height can be adjusted until the creation is finished.
Both N-gon and Rectangle really create a group of "ordinary" lines, which you can later adjust as such. Once you ungroup such a shape, there are basically just a bunch of lines you can work with as usual. This is a fairly powerful asset for various occasions, especially triangles, of course, for certain measurements or design procedures. But there's magic in any number of edges.

to all of you!
In the meantime a whole lot more has again made it into the next release, all of which is incredibly exciting. Even the "bug fixes" are exciting to us.
But, yes, it's going to be a really nice release.

SVG import is starting to work!
Thanks to Meka's wonderful help, supplying us with a pattern as SVG, we've managed to add a first iteration of SVG import. It is still not complete and will skip over various things such as Text, Arcs and Quadratic Bezier, but properly reads Lines, Polylines, Polygons, Cubic Bezier Curves and grouping along with trying to convert it all into White Rabbit Style geometry with line widths, colors and some dashing.
Here's an example with Meka's pattern ( ) :
Oh, the video also shows our improved Extract, True Dart and Seam Allowances. All of which have become quite a bit smarter and quicker at the same time.
